This is a short book with proverbs and aphorisms related to war. It's an ancient book, perhaps circa 400 B.C.E. However, scholars are not in complete agreement about it's origins. The shortness of the book itself is tolerable. However, the commentary that comes with it in this edition is long and boring. If you're not planning on waging war in the near future, this book is probably not worth your time. The effort of some authors to apply the wisdom of this book to other parts of life such as business and dating seem a bit of stretch to me.
I listened to the audio format of this book because it was selected for discussion by a book group I belong to. It was our non-western literature for the year.
