John Adams - David McCullough I read this before my goodreads.com days so I haven't written my own review. However, I was reminded of it recently by the following review from my PageADay Books Lover's Calendar:

Widely considered to be the best biography of our second president, David McCullough’s exhaustively well-researched book presents a strong point of view. Full of history and the story of the president’s devotion to his wife, Abigail, McCullough’s portrait also treats us to a highly entertaining depiction of Adams’s friendship with Thomas Jefferson, who tested his remarkable patience at every turn.
